This year’s IAR’s Annual Convention & Expo is all about helping you increase your lead over your opponents by preparing for change and wining in today’s real estate market. With the presidential race in full swing we hope this year’s convention theme—Elect to Succeed…Pursue a New Dynamic—will be just as exciting.

Join the conversation or just read along as IAR staff and member contributors chronicle the IAR Annual Convention & Expo experience!

Keep in mind these general guidelines for blog comments:

The Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) wants to foster a spirit of involvement and conversation in its blog. At the same time, we can’t have objectionable material on the site. So we’re asking for your help. In the spirit of that free exchange of ideas, keep the conversation clean and respectful. If you see something objectionable, please send us an e-mail at IARaccess@iar.org.

IAR has the right to edit, delete, or move any comment at any time. The following rules and guidelines clarify our practices and provide an explanation of what content may lead to message deletion and/or user bans. (This is written a little less formally than our official terms and conditions, which rules ultimately control.)

Messages containing intentionally misleading or false information, defamatory content, threats, verbal abuse, harassment, obscenity or personal information about other individuals are not allowed.

Keep a civil tone. Resist making personal attacks or indulging in name-calling.

If your item doesn’t get posted or is deleted, tone it down a bit and try again.

Advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes and solicitations are unacceptable.

Spam is not allowed. Spamming includes multiple disruptive, meaningless repetitive messages, or messages posted solely for solicitation. Messages considered spam, or similar activities (as determined by the moderator) can be deleted without warning or explanation.

Do not post entire articles into comments. This is a potential violation of copyright laws. It’s unnecessary and results in needlessly lost posts. Instead, post a brief abstract of the material and a link to the complete source. If you are not sure how much of an article you can legally post, please simply post a link to the material.
